Optical Media Manufacturing provides high-quality, fully-licensed Blu-ray Disc mastering and Blu-ray replication for both Blu-ray high-definition video formats: Single layer BD-25 and dual-layer BD-50.

Our Blu-ray Disc packaging options include mastering, stampers, check discs, Viva "Blue" Blu-ray case, full-color, high-resolution (300 dpi) face label imprint, assembly and shrink wrap. Packaging options include multi-disc Blu-ray disc cases for "Complete Seasons" or multi-disc series.

Ask us about our bindery packages and options for discs that need to be "bound" into a journal, magazine or perfect bound book.

We'll take care of interfacing with AACS for the required content encryption certification and subsequent mastering, and evaluate your BDCMF or BDMV high-definition video files prior to replication to ensure playability and accuracy.

Masters for Blu-ray replication must be submitted in Cutting Master Format (BDCMF or Sony CMF) on removable USB 2.0 hard drives formatted for Windows or submitted as BDCMF or Sony CMF image on BD-R. (Playable BD-Rs are not acceptable for Blu-ray replication.)

Frequently Asked Questions

Answer

High Definition Video or HD Video is a video format with a resolution of 1920x1080 or 1080p lines of horizontal resolution.

Answer

For orders of Blu-ray replication in the Midwest, the minimum order quantity is 500.

Answer

Blu-ray replication is often referred to as "pressed" discs. The discs are created through an injection molding process where the data is actually part of the physical discs. Duplication is often referred to as "burned" discs. The data is burnt to the surface of the recordable disc.

Answer

As with DVD, this depends on the decisions on the usage of video bandwidth, the number of audio tracks and other criteria made by the author of the disc. And the choice codec used also influences playback time. On average, a single-layer disc can hold a High Definition feature of 135 minutes using MPEG-2, with additional room for 2 hours of bonus material in standard definition quality. A double-layer disc even extends these numbers up to 3 hours in HD quality and 9 hours of SD bonus material.

Answer

The difference is the amount of information that the disc can hold. A BD-25 is a single layer disc and can hold 25 gigs of High Definition Video. A BD-50 is a dual layer disc and can hold 50 Gigs of High Definition Video.

Answer
